Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the First Fable website and services. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase on First Fable. Our storybooks are created for children aged 3–5, but all orders must be placed by a parent, legal guardian, or other adult.

AI-generated content

Every First Fable storybook is generated using artificial intelligence. This means:

• Story text and illustrations are created by AI models based on the details you provide.
• Results may vary from order to order, even with the same inputs.
• We do not guarantee that illustrations will be an exact likeness of your child. AI-generated images are artistic interpretations, not photographs.
• While we use a quality-review process, occasional imperfections in text or artwork may occur.

Prohibited use

You agree not to use First Fable to create content that is:

• Offensive, hateful, or discriminatory.
• Violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful to children.
• Intended to harass, bully, or defame any person.
• In violation of any applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that we reasonably believe violates these rules.

Payment terms

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Payment is a one-time charge processed securely through Stripe at the time of checkout. We do not store your credit card details.

Refund policy

• Generation failure: If we are unable to generate your storybook for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
• PDF orders: Because digital products are delivered instantly, we do not offer refunds once your PDF has been generated and delivered.
• Print orders — before approval: You may request a full refund at any time before you approve your book for printing.
• Print orders — after approval: Once you approve your book and it is sent to print, refunds are no longer available because printing and shipping have already begun.

Shipping terms

Printed hardcover books are shipped via our print partner Lulu. Estimated delivery is 2–3 weeks from the date you approve your book, though this is an estimate and not a guarantee. Delivery times may vary depending on your location and factors outside our control. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs, or other third parties.

Intellectual property

Once your storybook has been generated and paid for, you own the content of your book — the story text and illustrations created for your order. You are free to print, share, and enjoy it however you like for personal use.

First Fable retains all rights to the platform itself, including our website, brand, design, story templates, generation technology, and any other intellectual property not specific to your individual book.

Limitation of liability

First Fable is provided on an “as is” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

• We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
• Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or disappointed expectations regarding AI-generated content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of First Fable after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
